Split

Sudamja, Feast of St Domnius

Every year on 7 May

Next: Friday, 7 May 2027

The feast day of Split's patron saint, which is also the city's day. In the morning a procession carries the relics of St Domnius from the Peristyle through town to the Riva, where an open-air Mass is held. A large fair takes place around the feast, and tradition says you should take home something made of wood, even if it is just a spoon.

Dates and programmes can change from year to year. Check the official website shortly before you travel.

Good to know

  • Ideal for walking, cycling and city visits.
  • A good month for Plitvice: everything is green and there are fewer visitors than in summer.
